Led and supported by industry leaders including Rand York Minerals, the event earned its reputation as a standout occasion within the chromium sector — even being recognised internationally as a highlight on the industry calendar.
Then, like so many great gatherings around the world, the lights dimmed.
The Covid-19 pandemic, global uncertainty, and economic pressures forced the industry into survival mode. The stage went dark. The celebrations paused. And for the first time in years, The Chrome Dinner disappeared from the calendar.
