Welcome to the official regulatory framework for The Chrome Dinner 2026. These guidelines ensure a fair, transparent, and prestigious voting process that reflects the integrity and excellence of the South African chrome industry and its global stakeholders.
Voting Rules
PURPOSE
The Chrome Dinner Awards recognizes excellence in the Chrome and Ferrochrome industry. To ensure fairness, transparency, and credibility, voting will be conducted in two stages: Verified Industry Voting followed by Independent Panel Judging.
VOTING STRUCTURE
he awards process consists of 3 stages: Nomination Stage Verified Industry Voting Stage → Determines Top 3 Finalists per category Independent Panel Judging Stage → Determines the Final Winner from Top 3
ELIGIBILITY
3.1 Nominee Eligibility Must have been actively operating in the industry for a minimum of 12 months as of 1 January 2026. Must provide valid business registration, portfolio, or 2 client references upon request. Self-nominations are accepted but must be seconded by 1 other industry entity. 3.2 Voter Eligibility Voting is open to verified industry professionals only. Acceptable verification: Company email domain OR membership from ICDA. Personal email domains such as Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc. will NOT be accepted. The organisers reserve the right to implement reasonable verification measures to protect the integrity of the voting process
INDUSTRY VOTING RULES
4.1 Voting Period Voting will open on 11 August 2026 and close on 20 August 2026. Only votes successfully submitted and recorded during the official voting period will be considered. The organisers reserve the right to extend, suspend or amend the voting period should technical difficulties or circumstances beyond their reasonable control materially affect the voting process. No late votes will be accepted. 4.2 How to Vote Voters may vote in as many categories as they wish on the official chrome dinner website . One Vote Per Person Per Category. Multiple votes for the same nominee in one category will be discarded. Limited Self-Voting: Employees of a nominated company may vote, but a maximum of 10 votes from the same company domain will be counted per category to prevent ballot stuffing. 4.3 Anti-Fraud & Integrity Measures All votes are tracked by email, phone number, IP address, and device ID. Use of bots, fake emails, VPNs, incentives, or paid voting is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification. Disposable/temporary email services are blocked. An Independent Auditor will review all voting data and has the right to nullify suspicious votes. 4.4 Results of Industry Vote The nominees with the highest number of verified votes in each category will advance as the Top 3 Finalists. In case of a tie for 3rd place, all tied nominees will advance.
Code of Conduct No Campaigning with Incentives:
Nominees are encouraged to share their nomination and invite genuine supporters to participate in the voting process. Campaigning must remain professional, truthful, and respectful. No nominee or supporter may knowingly publish false or misleading information about another nominee or engage in conduct intended to unfairly compromise another nomination. Nominees may not offer gifts, money, airtime, or prizes in exchange for votes. Confidentiality: Panel scores and deliberations will remain confidential until winners are announced. Conflict of Interest: Any panellist or staff with a conflict must declare it and recuse themselves from relevant categories. To safeguard the credibility of the awards, voting results may be subject to verification before being declared final. The organisers reserve the right to investigate unusual or suspicious voting patterns where there are reasonable grounds to believe that voting irregularities may have occurred. Verification may include reviewing voting records and other relevant technical information, subject to applicable privacy and data-protection requirements.
INDUSTRY INTEGRITY
Chrome Dinner 2026 is founded on the principle: FOR THE INDUSTRY, BY THE INDUSTRY. The voting process is intended to recognise genuine contribution, achievement and impact within the Chrome Industry and its communities. The organisers therefore reserve the right to take reasonable and proportionate measures necessary to preserve the fairness, credibility and integrity of the awards.
TECHNICAL INTERRUPTIONS
While reasonable measures will be taken to ensure that the voting platform remains available, uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed. Chrome Dinner 2026 will not be responsible for votes that are not successfully submitted due to internet connectivity, device failure or circumstances outside the organisers’ reasonable control. Where a significant technical issue affects the fairness of voting, the voting period may be extended or other appropriate corrective measures implemented.
JUDGING CRITERIA
The panel will score each of the Top 3 Finalists out of 100 points based on: Industry Impact & Innovation Industry Vote Ranking Quality of Work & Reputation, Ethics & References 9 Final Decision The nominee with the highest total score from the panel will be declared the Winner. In case of a tie, the panel Chairperson will cast the deciding vote. The decision of the judging panel is final and binding. Amendments: The Organizing Committee reserves the right to amend these rules. Any changes will be communicated to all nominees via official email. Announcement: Winners will be announced at the Chrome dinner on the 17 September 2026 ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS By submitting a vote, the voter confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to these Voting Rules & Terms and Conditions.
